Graciela Reyes, a reader of romance, November 19, 2004, WOW !!!!! A hopeless romantic, indeed!!!!! This story was totally not what I expected!!! The sensuality that Alex describes is the perfect tease that has better detail than any other male author I have read before. His main character, Ritchie, is the ideal hopeless romantic & yet as you read the story you can understand why he is single. To some extent, it describes a lot of the nice guys and girls that are out there, continuously being hurt & yet they won't give up on love. I know, because I'm one of those people. Alex does a wonderful job of summarizing the way most romantics truly feel, and to be a man that writes so eloquently is an absolute plus.
Marisol Ramirez (Mari_r_74@yahoo.com), a huge fan of Alex F. Chavez, November 11, 2004, I have always enjoyed Alex Chavez's writing since I first began to read his poetry in 1998. His romantic vision and message has found a way to touch my heart on numerous occassions when I've felt down. I heard about his book through his web page and I knew I had to check it out. After reading The Trouble with Ritchie, I am convinced that Alex is a writer with a message. His story just about sums up every poem I have ever read that he has written and I look forward to the release of his next release this coming spring. He's definitely one of my favorite writers and obviously my favorite poet. Thank you for the wonderful read Mr. Chavez, I love it!
Melinda, September 27, 2004, A Jersey girl that loves this book. I don't know if Alex intended on it, but several scenes touched me so deeply, that I was brought to tears. Reading this novel has given me hope that there are good men out there, despite all the wrong men I have met. To know there is a man who can understand an appreciate women is to feel loved again. The story itself tells us what kind of pain a good man endures, but my favorite aspect of the book, is when Alex, or Ritchie, talks to the reader. I love this book! ! !
Steven, September 27, 2004, Finally a mans point of view! A page turner, for sure. My girlfriend bought this book after hearing about it through my sister, I picked it up and haven't been able to put it down since. We read it together and even discuss the dialogue and points of view that this story gives us. As a man, I have to say that there is truth in what this story tells. Alex has cut no corners and has exposed every sentiment a man can have about dating and relationships through his characters. This is one hell of a read. Every character in this story reminds me of someone I know or have known at some point in my life. I can't wait to finish it.
Margarita, a home-maker, a mother, a woman, August 3, 2004, A Lesson About Love For Young Adults To Learn Where do I begin? This book is wonderful. My sister- in-law told me about this novel, after my niece bought it, and I have fallen in love all over again. Unlike the traditional romance novel, Alex F. Chavez brings us romance, comedy, sensuality and truth in a way most of us may not be accustomed to. He writes in a fashion that says everything a woman wants to hear, and at the same time, some of his characters tell us what we don't want to hear. This book made me laugh, made me cry, angered me and also touched me in a manner I haven't been touched in a long time. Finally, women get a chance to see what men really talk about and better understand why they may be insensitive to our needs. This is a must read for young men and women everywhere, as 'The Trouble with Ritchie,' may be the trouble with young people everywhere.
ONLY HONESTY: June 2005 I read your book...Great book!...good job....I've told my girlfriends all about it....unfortunately they are on the Dirty Girl Social Club kick...which is good too....but reading about love from a mans perspective is what I think my girlz need to be doing right now....
